Autumn in upstate New York offers a kind of magic that feels like it’s drawn straight from a storybook. For Lizzie and Ryan, Akron’s golden hues and crisp air provided the perfect backdrop for a wedding filled with elegance, warmth, and heartfelt moments. On this beautiful October day, under the soft glow of the autumn sun, the couple’s love story unfolded in a celebration that was as timeless as it was personal.
Lizzie and Ryan’s love story began at St. John Fisher College, where Ryan was Lizzie’s RA. From those casual conversations in the halls to building an incredible life together, these two are the epitome of “meant to be.”
Ryan, now a successful real estate agent, and Lizzie, whose heart is poured into her role as a nanny, have built a life centered on care and love for others. For me, documenting their day was especially meaningful. Lizzie has been a dear childhood friend, and Ryan helped my husband and me find our home. Being trusted to capture their love story was a true honor.
October delivered the dreamiest fall day for Lizzie and Ryan’s celebration. Sunlight peeked through the colorful leaves as a warm breeze rustled them, for an inviting and joyful atmosphere.
The energy of the day was palpable. Everyone was so genuinely happy to be there. Family and friends gathered with beaming smiles, their excitement setting the tone for a day that felt equal parts intimate and full of life.
Lizzie and Ryan chose The Sterling for their ceremony and reception, and it’s easy to see why. It’s one of those venues that somehow manages to be modern and inviting, with clean lines and warm tones that match their style effortlessly.
The ceremony was set against the venue’s refined backdrop, which complemented the wedding’s classic aesthetic. Inside, the reception space felt warm and sophisticated. From beginning to end, The Sterling felt like the perfect venue for their celebration.
Everything about Lizzie and Ryan’s wedding style said “timeless,” with a modern touch. Lizzie stepped down the aisle in a stunning long-sleeve, flowing gown. Its side cut-outs added just the right amount of playful style.
Ryan mirrored the classic feel in a sleek black suit, while his groomsmen followed suit (literally). Bridesmaids wore soft blush pink dresses in various styles that complemented the overall aesthetic beautifully.
Blush pinks, lush greenery, white florals, and gold accents created a harmonious palette that complemented the brilliance of the season. These tones, paired with soft linens and vintage-inspired brass details, gave the wedding an understated yet luxurious feel.
A linen chair sign that read “I will be there” honored a loved one during the ceremony.
Lizzie and Ryan have five cats (yes, five!), so naturally, they had custom drink stirrers with their cats’ faces. Adorable and hilarious!
From the custom signage to the floral arrangements, every element captured the romance of a fall day while providing a modern warmth that was perfectly “Lizzie and Ryan.”
The day was filled with countless moments of joy, but a few left a lasting impression. For me, their private vow exchange was one of those. It was so intimate—just the two of them exchanging promises that felt raw, real, and straight from the heart.
And don’t even get me started on their dip kiss! Their now-iconic dip kiss was set against The Sterling’s glass-walled backdrop. Caught in the reflection were their family and friends, clapping and cheering—a heartfelt reminder of the love surrounding them. It was one of those moments that you know will live on forever in the hearts of everyone who witnessed it. But also in photos.
